George Macharia is a graduate of Nairobi University (BA L. Econ) and Bournemouth University in UK (MSc Loss Adjusting). He began his career in 1980 as a property valuer in the Government of Kenya involved in the valuation of land, buildings and assets. In 1989, he joined GAB Robins Kenya Ltd where he trained as a Loss Adjuster, eventually becoming a Director based at their Nairobi Office. He was the Managing Director of General Adjusters Group since 1998 before he took up his current role as the CEO of the Group. He is a member of the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya, a Registered Valuer (Valuer's Registration Board), a member of the Uganda Association of Engineering Valuers and Loss Assessors (UAEVLA), a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters of UK (ACILA), and is a Member of the European Federation of Loss Adjusting Experts (FUEDI-ELAE).
