GIT & Carriers Liability
Losses handled under Goods in Transit insurance policies are those arising from loss or damage of goods whilst on transit by air, road, rail or inland water body vessels. Carriers liability considers losses sustained by owners of transport vessels as a result of damage or loss of the third party goods they have been contracted to transport. This could be as a result of road traffic accident in cases where transport is by road, aero accident during air transportation or through derailment of train compartments.
